Overview
After discovering a nascent interest in beetles, these illustrations began with an obsession for capturing their varied and intricate patterns, and evolved into a metaphor for togetherness. Art and science come together in this coleoptera-inspired paper. These generously scaled, hand-drawn bugs bring an abundance of pattern and shape into spaces.

Additional Info
Founded in 2000, makelike is a multi-disciplinary graphic design collective headed by artist/designers Mary Kysar and Topher Sinkinson. They are based out of Portland, Oregon and have a small studio in New Orleans, Louisiana. Their studio’s design mission is to create work that is unique, sophisticated and covetable—and almost definitely includes at least one pattern. They started their product line in 2009, with a focus on specialty wallpaper and textiles. Today, they also design, illustrate and produce custom patterns and wallpaper for interior design and architectural clients that have specific needs.
The makelike shop illustrates, designs and produces their own line of luxury hand-screen-printed wallpaper and textiles for the home.
