Overview
Fretwork emulates the hand-carved geometric patterns traditionally found in panelling systems of the 1800s. A nod to the timeless quality of these designs, the steady, simple repeat and minimal colour leaves one with a sense of air and space, whilst the subtle shadowing tricks the eye into perceiving depth. Fretwork is an expression of the never-ending inspiration the studio finds in classic motifs, and our desire to reimagine these in modern terms. Printed using environmentally-kind water-based pigments, this sustainably produced wallcovering strikes a balance between relaxation and formality.
