Overview
This beautiful design uses the 'Itajime' Shibori technique to create the striking abstract diamond repeat. Itajime is a shaped-resist technique where the cloth is folded in various ways and then placed between two pieces of wood, which are held in place with clamps or string. The shapes and the way the fabric is folded act as a resist which prevents the dye from penetrating the fabric. Gorgeous abstract patterns are then created using this magical method.

Additional Info
Creator of intricate patterned wallpapers and homewares, Tatie Lou was founded by Louise Wargnier in 2019. A print textile designer and expert in the Japanese art of shibori, as well other hand-dyeing techniques, one day she was tempted to transfer her work to wallpaper and the rest, as they say, is history.
Inspired by the brilliance of Mother Nature, the magic of India, and the beauty of ancient Japanese crafts, Louise designs a new Tatie Lou collection of original prints annually. Created through a mixture of shibori dyeing, hand and digital drawing, and painting, each signature print is digitized and transformed into a suite of different colorways before being applied to wallpapers & fabrics.
